I’m a bird-loving, socially awkward ball of passion and art supplies. I’m determined to provide readers with honest posts and human work. I’ve wanted to be an author since my freshman year of high school and in the growing use of generative AI in the arts, I strive to be one of the exceptions.
Author Bio
I can’t say these are very unique, but I strive to create stories that people love just as much as I do. Stories that I would enjoy as a reader.
I’m not the biggest fan of romance stories or their tropes, but that’s not to say you will never find romance in my stories. Romance just won’t be the main plot of most of them. Romance genre lovers, fret not. I like experimenting with genres (as you might have noticed), so I’ll likely try a story in the romance genre in the future.
I want all of my readers to have a pleasant reading experience. Because of this, all of my books will also include a list of potential triggers in the front matter, before the first chapter or prologue. This list will also include what chapters these potential triggers are placed in if its not largely ingrained. If you wish to learn more about this, check the Book Format heading on this page.
Overall you can expect character-driven stories with heart and soul behind them.
My goals
Specifically, I hate generative AI. The use of it does not belong in any form of art, especially mine.
I do not use generative AI at any stage of my writing process, and I think other authors should disclose whether they do the same or not. Otherwise, I believe they’re breaking the trust of their readers.
“Ai artists” are not real artists.
Generative AI has large, negative environmental impacts. Be sure to do your research.
I believe generative AI doesn’t belong in the arts in any form.
My views on AI
My favorite books, TV shows, and movies
I don’t read as much as I should, but I have at least a few books that I really enjoyed. These are Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo and the Wings of Fire series by Tui T. Sutherland.
I’m usually slow to taking in any forms of media that I’m not already a fan of, which I probably need to work on. That being said, my top 5 TV shows (in no particular order) are: The Amazing Digital Circus, Lucifer (Netflix), Hannibal (2013), Shadow and Bone, and The Umbrella Academy. Make with that what you will.
My top 3 favorite movies are: How to Train Your Dragon 2 (animated), Scrooge: A Christmas Carol (2022), and Jurrassic World. Again, make with that what you will. These also are in no particular order.
Not all of my books will be formatted the same, however, under this heading, I’ll say what will be the same for all of them. Not including the obvious (copyright, blurb, etc.).
In the front matter (the material before the first chapter or prologue), my books will include maps or diagrams (if the story calls for it), as well as a trigger warnings page. This page will include potential triggers and where they are present in the story. These can include, but are not limited to: drug abuse, alcohol abuse, suicide, graphic descriptions of violence, and excessive animal cruelty. These are not commonly found in my stories and are only listed as examples as to what could be disclosed. These warnings will also be said at the very start of audiobook recordings. This is to ensure these segments are skippable by those who do not wish to read them, but also there for those that need them.
In the back matter, I will include author notes, my next release with the concept cover and blurb, and a glossary. If the book has been release for a while, instead of my next release it will include another release in a similar genre, format, or storyline. Unless it is part of a series, then the next book in that series will be listed instead.
